● Eating Out West might be jumping the gun a little, but we went to press with news of a planning application to open a Jamie Oliver foodfest in part of the building currently being occupied by Blackwell’s bookshop. Proposals include a three-floor restaurant with antipasti counter, fresh pasta machine and ‘bread station’, and a ground-floor deli area selling Italian food, Jamie’s cookbooks and kitchen products. If all goes to plan, opening is planned for early 2011.

Their Gujarati cuisine uses much less oil, and all dishes, freshly prepared each day, are cooked in sunflower oil only, using more nutritional spices than most Indian food.
